I've been working on William STEELE b. 1774 for so long, and I have collected some information on the Augusta Co., Va. STEELE's and a few (ie. Claudia, Hello! My name is Laurie and I am researching ,y Mom's family's genealogy. I noticed a few posts up at the mailing list: STEELE-L@rootsweb.com, that were from my MOm's cousin, Patt Steele. I think that means we may be related somehow. I got a copy of the message that was posted by you, asking Patt about her relatives from Greenbriar Co, W.Va. I have a few names, like: Mary Aviline Steele(Molly)---supposed to be born in 1850 and died at: 64 in Hoke. Looks like she may havebeen the mother of Taylor Steele who married Mary Merrith; Taylor's middle name from what I have been told, was maybe "William" and since there were many "william"'s in the family, so took "taylor" as his first name who were the parents of Charles Bernard Steele(My Great-grandpa). Also, his son, Charles W. Steele(Sr.) was born: Jan. 3rd, 1903 and died: march 26th, 1977, and he was my Mom's Dad's father. He married an Elsie Marie Rhodes--born: Nov. 14th, 1902 and died: march 26th, 1986. Do any of those names ring any bells? I would appreciate hearing from you, because we may be related.
