His grave is soon (late 2001 or early 2002) to receive a new, official military marker, and we would like to invite his family to the dedication. According to his obituary in the 2 May 1905 *Oberlin News,* Judge Steele was survived by his wife, the former Ella Frances CLARKE, and three children: Mrs. Marian WHEDON of New York, Eloise STEELE of Oberlin, and John Alexander STEELE of Oberlin. He had a brother, Lyman (Lee) Beecher STEELE of Lorain, Lorain County, Ohio, and two sisters, C. M. STEELE of Oberlin and Mrs. William A. DAY of Sheffield, Lorain County, Ohio. If you are a descendant or a relative, or know how to contact them, please email me. Thanks!
