Thanks to those who replied regarding the subject of paying or sharing. I appreciate your input. I can understand paying if "work" has actually been done by a professional genealogist, ie. research. I myself pay people for work I don't want/like/have time to do, even if I do know how to do it. Plumbing is a good example! If this professional is a real genealogist, then he should be getting paid for his research, not just what he is able to acquire from others by getting their gedcom file, who have actually done the work for him.
