Good day to all, Little over a year ago there was a STEELE(E) family bible for auction on ebay - I contacted the seller and asked for specific names I was seeking. He would not tell me any names, but the region and dates were right so I bid with a lot of hope . . . and eventually I won it. Well, it is not my lineage, and I've spent a lot of time trying to find a possible living ancestor that might be interested in the bible. At this point, I am going to offer it back up for sale, for only what I paid plus shipping. BUT, I will list the names in the hopes it will find a good home. DESCRIPTION: Deeply embossed leather cover, 10 inches by 13 inches by 4 inches thick, weighs over 11 pounds, over 1300 pages including pages for family records and photographs. Titled: Improved Domestic Bible, published in London & Ontario. The only published date I found was 1873. Has numerous engravings and rich color plates. Overall the bible is intact, with all pages present, but the edges of the cover show moderate to heavy wear. THE FAMILIES: This was the family bible of Charles STEELE (1855 - 1933) and Anna SHEPPARD, who were married 7/6/1878. Charles & Anna have 6 children listed with birthdates. Charles STEELE was apparently a child of Aaron STEELE (b. 1822) and his wife Meroah, along with 5 other brothers and sisters. There are many spouses, births, deaths, and marriages listed. THE PHOTOS: There are 8 photos, each about 2 inches by 4 inches. A couple are tin-type. None have identifying writing, and they vary from a very old man with a long beard to a couple kids. In the photograph section, is written "Photos were taken in Ingersoll, Tilsonburg, and Woodstock - Ontario, Canada." I will sell this family bible for $250 (U.S.) plus professional packaging and shipping of the buyers choice (USPS, USP, insured/certified/etc. The shipping is estimated at $25.00 to east coast US, $40.00 west coast US, but will be computed to the specific address of the buyer. Please do not ask me for lookups in this bible - I posted that to the STEEL(E) lists over a year ago, and I'm sure they are archived. Thanks to all for reading this, I hope this treasure finds it's rightful home, Jackie in Virginia
