Will, if you'll do a little research in VA records I believe you will find that Andrew Steele, son of Samuel and Martha Fulton Steele married Mary Ramsey, daughter of Daniel and Mary Ramsey and that this Andrew Steele stayed in VA. The Andrew Steele who moved to White Co. TN, as you know, married Martha Buchanan and spent much of his life in TN. Have you considered that Andrew of White Co., may have been an immigrant and that his parents may not have been in this country?
Didn't know ol' Andrew, son of Samuel stayed there. The only info I had on him was from the LDS family file, which had nothing on Andrew at all. Wasn't aware of the Ramsey connection, and glad you mentioned it. I was hoping this might have been ours, due to his seeming proximity to John Buchanan on the Borden (or was it Beverly?) patent in the 1740's, old Orange (Augusta) County. Andrew could have been an immigrant. Wish I could find some more info on him. I'm curious about that Moses Steele who was in Wilson County. Have you found anything that might suggest any sort of kinship to our bunch? Thanks for clarifying the info on Andrew Steele of Virginia. Beginning to think OUR Andrew just sort of "hatched" somewhere, hee hee.
