I have a M.E. Steele born in South Carolina who married Josiah P. Alexander from either North or South Carolina. At some point they moved to Tennessee and had a daughter Mary Adeline born December 1843 in Pulaski TN and died November 10, 1910 in Birmingham Alabama. Mary Adeline married Zachriah Taylor Partin and they had, among other children, my grandfather Steele Hightower Partin. I know nothing more about M.E. Steele. I subscribed to this list several years ago in hopes of tracing my Steele connection. Pete Partin
