Donna and others, I have been traveling and missed the first few messages of this thread, but I hope someone can tell me whether my Nancy Steel connects to these Steeles. She was born in Pennsylvania and about 1814-16 married Lewis OGLE, a veteran of War of 1812 who enlisted in Fayette Co. PA. Lewis and Nancy owned land in Butler Co. OH, where I have found both a Joseph and a William STEELE. Lewis and Nancy were known to be in Marion Co. IN by May 1822, where he was appointed constable. Around 1827 they were in Fall Creek Twp., Hamilton Co. IN. Nancy may have died soon after 1830 as Lewis married Parthena Bracken in Indiana, 1832. Could Nancy have been a sister to John Steele Jr.?
