Hello, Cousin! Martha Ann Steele Wilson Hawthorne is my great-great grandmother. I have a lot of information. My brick wall is her first husband, and I believe some of your information is incorrect about their children. Perhaps we can share information. I will contact you via your email address. I have been in touch with many Steele family members in the North Florida area and have a book from them, but it is very limited info on my Robert Steele. I was told that some of his descendants moved to another area. I haven't been able to research it though due to a degenerative illness. Did the book have a picture in it of Robert Steele?! I am like you I am searching for pictures. I would be so very happy to find one of Robert. I have one of his daughter, my great grandmother Martha (Aunt Monkey). I will be glad to share what I have with you. Thanks again, Mari Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It can be found in the Archives in Jackson, MS. I got my copy from a family member at a Steele reunion in Rawls Springs, MS. It's packed full of names of Steele's descending from Peter Henry Steele Sr. b. abt 1748. I'm a descendant of Jason "Jay" Steele, (Robert's brother) whose son Jay moved to MS. I'm hoping to find people willing to share pictures and information on my ancestrial line. Good Luck, Tina Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Is there anyone on the list with books related to STEELE's that is willing to do look-ups? I am lost as how to find my Viola STEELE most likely born about 1859 in PA. Her first child, Laura May RICHARDSON, was born in MO in 1884. Tamara G. Robert, Elizabeth, and their 2 children, Matilda and William, did come over in the late 1840's during the famine and landed in Philadelphia where they are listed on the 1850 census as living in the district of Mayamensing, ward 3. This area was affectionatly refered to as the Devil's pocket. They had another son, Andrew, in Philly about 1853. They moved to Ontario about 1855 where they stayed permanently. I don't know if there were other Steele members that came over with them from Ireland. Don't know if that helps, but there you go. Tom.
