I am searching for information about Samuel STEELE, born 1794 in KY. Samuel married Sarah "Sally" PORTER, (b 1800, KY) in Butler Co., OH on 19 April 1821. According to family lore, William Porter, the eldest son, was born there in 1823. Other children, James Rankin, John Elliott and Mary Jane were born in Rising Sun, Dearborn County (now Ohio Co.), IN in 1825, 1827, and 1829 respectively. I have been unable to find any record of the family between their marriage date and 1843 when Samuel purchased a farm in Caldwell Co., MO. Samuel's parents are unknown. His siblings are believed to be: William (m. Unknown Johnson), Ann (m. Richard Scott), Jane (m. Robert Scott), Joseph, Alexander, James, John (m. Mary Porter), Mary, and Eleanor (m. Unknown North). Hello, In researching my WRIGHT lines, I found several Steeles buried in the same plots in a cemetery near Uniontown/Pleasant Unity, Westmoreland or Fayette county, PA.
