My Steele aly came from Scotland, Refrowsire. came to Canadawest sometime in the 1840's. Do you think there is a connection here? I believe he lived in the Cumberland District of Sydney, have found him in the 1841 census. William was born September 24, 1809 and Agnes was born in 1801. They immigrated from Scotland to the U.S. in about the mid 1850's. Agnes either died at sea or soon after arrival in New Tork She was buried there, William went on to family members in Wisconsin. Trying to find their immigration date. Unable to locate it yet. It listed the heirs and how they related back to her. Tom Steele and Rosa Hundley were listed as children of Webb Steele. The 1900 census of Lee Co. KY list his children as Rosa C., Brownlow, Joe W., Nanie L., and Thomas. His wife was Florence. Hope this helps. The property was in Lee Co. KY around Beattyville.
