    3. Patt, I found a Mad Plume that is Full Piegan (a branch of the Blackfeet) and he was about 58 years old in 1907-1908 Blackfeet Heritage. When they give the birthdates, I am assuming that was their age in 1907-1908. This group gives the ages of the children in 1912 - not sure how that figures in a book for 1907-1908 Heritage. He married Kills At Night, 47 years old, Full Piegan and they were married in 1871 by Indian custom. Their children were: Albert Mad Plume, 34 years, married to Singing This Way (aka Susie Mad Plume); Elmer Rattler, 32 years, single (married Minnie Casuse by Fr. Carroll); Richard Mad Plume, 27 yrs in 1912, George Mad Plume, 22 in 1912, Mike Mad Plume, 14 years in 1912; John Mad Plume, 13 yrs in 1912; Last Gun Woman, a daughter, died leaving 4 children (See Boy Chief, Guns Upside Down) Mad Plume has adopted a child of Johnson Boy Chief. There is a note : Daughter, Ella Mad Plume was born October 1, 1909. Albert Mad Plume & Singing This Way Children: Mary Mad Plume 9 years Jack Mad Plume, 7 months. There is a lot more info about maternal and paternal aunts/uncles. (Pages 162 & 163). If you think this could be some relation, send me your address in an email and I will copy what I have to you. Good Luck!! Hope this helps!! Marty Goodson Hayden, Id --- Patt Steele <coolPatt@webtv.net> wrote: > I am looking for a Taylor Steele,unk.bd.,married to > Mary Aveline > Bostick,b.1850? 3. Got this from another list, thought it would be helpful to many. __________________________________________________________________________ Dear All: Some volunteers from the society of the Daughters of the American Revolution ( DAR) have established a wonderful new program for users of Rootsweb. These volunteers will do lookups in their database and records if you think one of your ancestors served in some capacity during the American Revolution. These volunteers have more databases that are available to them than the ones commonly used by the search engines. The process is fairly simple : Go to the DAR message board: There are two ways to do that: > www.rootsweb.com > message boards > topics > organizations and societies > DAR Or if you want the easy way :-) http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=topics.organizations.dar Address your message as follows: subject : DAR Lookup > surname> location > dates In the body of the message put the information regarding the person, Be sure to fill out the surnames box at the bottom since the new search engine will be keying on that item. Leave the email response box checked and you will be notified when the DAR volunteers respond . Give them a week or so to get to your request. We really appreciate their efforts. This info can be key for: a: joining these prestigious organizations ( DAR & SAR) b: sending a request for the copies of the files that were submitted and the information they have available. Many thanks to: Glenda Thompson DAR VIS Volunteer Vice Chrm. Patriot Lookup for organizing this effort and all the many volunteers that are donating their time and effort to us instead of pursuing their own ancestors, Best Regards John A Hansen DAR board admin. BTW: Please forward this message to other lists and boards that each of you are involved in. A word of thanks to each volunteer that does this work and especially the one that responds to your post would probably be highly appreciated. _____________________________________________________________________________ Jack Childers in OKC International Society of BlackSheep Genealogists http://www.gbnf.com/genealogy/childers/html/surnames.htm "I've traveled a long way and some of the roads were not paved"
