Ireland & Scotland. I have lots of information from 1850 to present, but only scant pieces from 1760 to 1850. The Samuel Steel families were the postmasters from early 1800's to early 1900's. They owned a building along with the bank building on Bridge St. Bushmills N. Ireland. The shop was on a corner street and is still known as Steel's corner. The shop is now a Hair Solon. In addition they had a millenary shop, mercantile and drapery business. I'm looking for the Lamberts (Trevor Allen L., Garvin Richard L. and Kathleen Gillian L.) last known address 61 Church St. Wool, Warham Dorset, England. They are the Great-grand children of Dr. Richard F. Steel who was a Dr. in India from 1900 to 1930. Also relatives or friends of Dr. James Alexander Steel of Castlerock & Articlave N. Ireland. Known relative Names are Kidd (Dr. George Kidd of Colerain), Wolf (Lawyers in Belfast), Wilson (James Minister), Love (builder of Dundraven), Moore, Steele (of Scotland and Canada), MacPherarson (Admiral in Navy), Black, Adams, Maxwell, Begain's or Beaghen and Eleanor Freyer or Fryer (sister Sara). The Scottish connection is in and around Paisley S. and the time of Queen Victoria marriage and before. Religion is Presbyterian with many strong ties to the church. Any one with Information or possible relation please respond.

Speaking with a friend at Church this evening, he was talking about Steeles and he commented that Alphonso Steele was the last or one of the last living survivors of the Battle of San Jacinto when he died and is buried in the Mexia Cemetery. I have not confirmed, but will try to do so in the near future.

I would be willing to share my descendency information from Richard down, but I do need some help establishing that he is in face a descendent of that line. He may have been a son of Nicholas Steele and Eva Meyer.

    3. I have a William and an Oscar Steele,I believe William was a family name which was carried through the children. He was the son of Taylor and Mary Steele,Va. He had one sister,Lila May,one half brother,Thomas, plus Charles,William,Oscar,Robert,David and Grover. Charles was born in 1880,the other births would have been near that time period within about ten years. If this is who you may be looking for,I do have other information. 3. I find the listing that was established by the DAR rather interesting to say the least, as Capt. John Steele, Cumberland Co., Carlisle, PA, and his son, Capt. John Steele II are buried in the Old Carlisle Cemetary, with their wives, and their graves have DAR markers on them, yet they are not included in this listing. But I would like to find out about a couple of the other John Steele's listed there-one a Capt. John Steele, buried in Randolph Co, IL. My gggrandmother was Amelia E. Steele who married Dr. Drury Stith Feild in IL. I would like to know where they met and how she got to IL. She raised Dr. Drury Stith Feild's children from his previous marriage along with the one they had. who was my great grandmother, Amelia Drury Feild.
