Cheryl, I was really happy to see the Stearns list is still here! Yes, I have Stearns in ME and in Franklin County.. Bethuel Stearns b 7/4/1780 in Norfolk & Sarah Butterfield Stearns b 1782 in NH had 14 children, all I believe were born around Franklin, ME. Lewis Ellison b 8/6/1807 Bethuel Melvin b 9/21/1804 Sarah W b 2/23/1806 Albert Irvin b 1/19/1809 Sarah Butterfiedl b 5/18/1812 William H b 8/1812 George Pickering b 10/30/1814 Charles Wesley b 11/27/1816 Salome David/Davis b 7/28/1819 Clarissa Hillman Whitney b 2/10/1821 Climela Raney b 2/10/1821 Thaddeus Constantine b 4/4/1823 Pembroke Beaufort b 5/22/1824 Ruth Auril b 7/11/1828 Lewis Ellison b 8/6/1807 m Hannah Gleason Walker b 12/1/1820 in Wilton, Franklin, ME on 8/27/1835. They had 5 children in ME and 1 in IL. The Maine children: Brucilla b 3/3/1839 Clarinda C. b 5/3/1841 Ambrose b 4/4/1843 Arbella b 8/12/1843 Leonard Aires b 7/5/1846 The child born in IL was Theron/Frank C. b 1855. I believe they left ME for IL in 1855 leaving Brucilla there and maybe Arbella... There is no mention of them in IL or in their obits. It's probably more probable that they died in ME? I've had trouble with the first 4 children getting them straight and the right years. Ambrose has a grandson alive in IL! I am Leonard's g-grandaughter. Theron was a 'famous' chemist living in NJ in the early 1900's. I have bits and pieces of Clarinda but have nothing on Brucilla or Arbella. Have much more information on the prior generations than I do on the last few.. Cheryl, I have found none of my names to connect to yours but it's a pretty good chance they are connected. Let me know if any connect, I have more information. I will print off and keep your info and hope you'll do the same!
