    3. One of our list members was kind enough to remind me that part of the problem with attachments is long messages. Two things sometimes happen with long messages that can cause problems. First, some email programs will automatically take a long message and convert it to an attachment. And some Internet service providers, commercial and other, will either reject a long message (Juno does this or used to do this), or convert the message to an attachment (AOL used to do this, maybe still does). The welcome messages for these lists is supposed to mention the problems with long messages and attachments. Since it may have been a while since you signed onto the list, I'll briefly emphasize both issues. 1) Long messages: If you have information which is going to make for a long message (more than a few pages or about 15KB of data) you have two options. One is to break the long message down into several parts so that no one part is too long for anyone. The other option is to send out a short message with a brief synopsis of what information you have, and invite people to contact you by PRIVATE email to request the information be sent to them by PRIVATE email. 2) Attachments: If you have information that you want to send as an attachment, DO NOT send it to the list. Send out a short message with a brief synopsis of the information you have, and invite people to contact you by PRIVATE email to request the information be sent to them by PRIVATE email. Thanks for your consideration. Good hunting.
