    3. In Avis Stearns Van Wagenen's book "Genealogy and Memoirs of Charles and Nathaniel Stearns and Their Descendants" (1901), Mrs. Van Wagenen lumped all my STEARNS ancestors (down to my great-grandfather Harrison STEARNS) in the appendix because she was not able to research successfully their descent from Charles through the five generations (as I have done). On p. 446 of the Appendix, she lists my 2nd great-grandfather Benjamin STEARNS, b. 1794 in VT, but fails to tell he was the son of Revolutionary War soldier Benjamin STEARNS. I would like to share information with descendants of siblings of Benjamin, Jr., all of whom seemed to leave Thompson, Geauga, OH for greener meadows in Michigan and Wisconsin. Those siblings would include my grest- grandfather Harrison STEARNS who removed to Green Bay, WI; Roxanna STEARNS who mar. Pardee HOARD, Sarah STEARNS who mar. Amasa JONES and settled near Allegan, MI, Elvira STEARNS who is said to have mar. a Mr. McCOY and removed to Iowa; Jane STEARNS who mar. Otis WARNER; and Benjamin STEARNS, not Jr., but III, who was a Civil War soldier and settled near Allegan, MI. As I remember, there was also a Thomas STEARNS who removed to Pensacola, Florida before the Civil War. I believe Thomas was a son of Benjamin, Sr., and brother of Abel and Asa STEARNS who were living in Franklin County, VT in 1863. Is anyone researching any of these lines?
