Dave, I concluded (for lack of any evidence to the contrary) that the two Stimsons you mentioned did marry their first cousins; I'm a descendant of Peter Stearns and Hannah Stimson. I have Hannah's birthdate as 22 March 1716; however, it's probably more appropriate to say that the date was 22 Mar 1715/16. I believe that 22 March was just about the date at which the new year was reckoned under the old system (it not it's a day close by). I only show Eneas/Enos married to Elizabeth Stearns, and no spouse for Sarah Stearns Now, the Mary Upton thing: Since Shubael Jr. and Rebecca Lariby were married (28 Dec 1704 Kittery ME) before his father's intentions to marry Mary Upton were posted (14 April 1705 Reading MA), it is highly unlikely that Mary Upton could have been his legitimate mother! Can anyone confirm or deny whether Hannah Stimson, wife of Peter Stearns, is the same person as Hannah Stimson, daughter of James Stimson, sister of Eneas?
