Although my paternal Starnes line comes from the flatlands of Union Co, NC, down near Charlotte, I've found a connection on my maternal side to the high country Starnes' of the NC mountains. Just outside Asheville, NC, in Buncombe Co, is an area called Starnes' Cove. Never been there but I recall seeing it listed on some of the buses running near my aunt's house in West Asheville when I was a kid. Does anyone have an info on the mountain Starnes line? My maternal ggf married a Glenn who was the daughter of a Starnes. Thanks. Bill
