First, I'll answer a question that several people have asked me through private email : The Stearns books that I referred to are: "Genealogy and Memoirs of Isaac Stearns and His Descendants" by Mrs. Avis Stearns Van Wagenen, published in 1901 by Courier Printing Co., Syracuse, New York. "Memoranda of the Stearns Family" by Willard Egerton Stearns, published in 1901 by The Sentinel Printing Company in Fitchburg. "Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, Massachusetts" by Henry Bond, M.D., Second Edition, published by the N.E. Historic- Genealogical Society in 1860. Also, yesterday I sent the descendancy of George Daniel Stearns. Below I've cut and pasted several generations of Stearns that lead up to (and include) the parents of George Daniel Stearns. Most of my Stearns line is based in the north - so if there is not a place given, it could be Mass., N.H., N.Y., or even Maine. A lot of times, paper work refers to a person as being "of" a place, which is not necessarily the birth place. So, unless the actual birthplace is given, I left the space blank.
