Article taken from the NY Times dated: Wed., February 18, 1894 FOR PASSING COUNTERFEIT COIN ALTOONA, Pa., Feb. 17. - United States Secret Service officers today arrested four men on the charge of making and passing counterfeit coin. M. A. Smith, a molder, and his son, Charles D. Smith, where captured at their home. George W. Graves was taken into custody at his blacksmith shop, and Lewis C. Statler, who claims to be a machinist, was captured at his home by the officers, who took possession of some incriminating apparatus. The four men were locked up for a hearing on Tuesday next. -David Statler
