I've only been able to get as far as my ggGrandfather, Frank STATLER, b. 1852 in OH, and his wife Ella COLLINS STATLER. Since I've not been able to get past him coming from "my" direction, I decided to start taking stabs in the dark and see what I could come up with by checking out other STATLER lines that would have been born before him and see if one might lead me directly to him....well..... John STATLER, b. 1772, had a son by the name of Charles Augustus STATLER, b. 1827. Charles Augustus married Catherine AKE in "January 1852". Catherine AKE was the daughter of John AKE of Frederick Co., MD. There are no children listed for them but, my ggGrandfather, Frank STATLER, was born in "July 1852"!!! Could he be their son? He could have been born two months premature, or Catherine could have been "with child" for two months prior to their marriage in January 1852. (Hey! It happened! *lol*) I also have an "AKE" in my STATLER line. I have Mary AKE who married Peter PUTTERBAUGH, also of Frederick Co., MD., so I know I'm related to this STATLER line, but not as directly through them, as I would like to be. I want to find that solid STATLER-to-STATLER connection. Here's how my AKE-to-STATLER line comes out: 1 Peter PUTTERBAUGH, b. 1765, Frederick Co. MD + Mary AKE, b. 1775 2 John Ake PUTTERBAUGH, b. 15 May 1994, Huntingdon Co., PA + Mary Ann WISE, b. 12 Dec 1798, Huntingdon Co. PA 3 Sarah Ann PUTTERBAUGH, b. 29 Aug 1838, OH + Eli Hewue BOOMERSHINE, b. 28 Dec 1837, Versailles, Darke Co., OH 4 Christina Jane BOOMERSHINE, b. 18 Mar 1864, Darke Co., OH + Lewis C. REINHEIMER, b. IN 5 Florence Marie REINHEIMER b. 11 Feb ???? + Clyde Franklin STATLER, b. 4 Sep 1882, Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., IA (Clyde's father was Frank STATLER, b. Jul 1852 and his mother, Ella COLLINS.) Then it goes to my grandfather, Eugene Clayton STATLER and my father, Eugene Clayton STATLER, Jr., and myself. As you can see, my AKE came down through Clyde STATLER's Maternal line. But, because of the coincidence that Frank STATLER was born the very same year that Charles Augustus and Catherine were married, I have a feeling he just might be their son. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any census records showing him with his parents listed, nor any other documents. If ANYONE has anything that might sinch this connection, I'll greatly appreciate hearing from you! Trust me, I have my fingers crossed over this one. I've been searching for nearly 25 years!
