I took a look at the 1880 census index on the Monroe County GenWeb page. In Seneca Twp found a Nicklas STALDER and a Cristopher Stalder. Looks like they are Stalder/Stalter families, a name invented merely to frustrate Statler researchers. No, it really is a name, and there are quite a few of them in Ohio. Sandy
