    3. Marcia, If you haven't done so already, please check out the Statler Family website at: http://www.statlerfamily.com as the Family Database there has this family in it as the SE MO Statlers are my family line. Charles is listed in our database, but we don't have his wife or children. We do have Charles' parents and siblings though. A direct link to this info is here: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=statler&id=I01212 To get more of your family information included in the database, please send it to my aunt, Mary Alice Statler Blaylock, as she is the "Keeper of the Database" at: maryalice@statlerfamily.com Thanks! 3. Hello Everyone... A few minutes ago, I received the following email from an Eric Statler: "hola yo soy hijo de alvin geral statler el vino a colombia una vez fe fue y nunca mas regreso mis abuelos se llamas leroy statler y ella willson cualquier informacion por favor enviarme email" It's been a LONG time since Spanish class in high school & college, but I did pull out a few things: "Hi, I am the son of Alvin Geral Statler... My Grandparents' names are Leroy Statler and Ella Willson If you have any information, please email me." If anyone out there is fluent in Spanish and can give a full translation I'd appreciate it. I tried one of the web site translators, but they botched it pretty good. Also, if you happen to know about this Statler line in Colombia, maybe we can help Eric out. Thanks! David Statler

    3. Haplogroups are a way of separating result into smaller groups, it is a way ancient populations are studied. It doesn't affect the Statler DNA project. The goal of our project is just to find out which families are more closely related. I assume the person who asked the question knew about haplogroups. R1b is the most common European Haplogroup. R1a is more popular in Eastern Europe but is found in Western Europe also. There is no way to tell where a person came from the test except in broad terms such as Europe. 3. Hi Anita, The John Statler of Monongalia County is part of what I call Group 10, since he and the other Statler's and Stateler's are close to the John Stutler of Harrison County (Group 16) I thought there might be a connection. I do have DNA results for both Groups which show no connection. The Stutler DNA is closest to Groups 2,4 and 8 which I believe were originially Stettler's.
