Yes, I would have to agree that Missouri's site is 100% better (I'd better say that since I actually work for the State of MO... Ha!) and I have also found many related family members listed at the MO site. It is a truly wonderful resource. Thanks Velda for the link. This is wonderful for some people, but MISSOURI has a much better site. You can get almost everyone of their death records FREE. Granted, there are a few that you must order for some unknown reason, but the rest are free. You can look at every death certificate to see if that person is related to you. Some of them, I would have sworn, were related, but turned out after viewing them, that they were not, so therefore, I did not copy it. You can copy the record instantly! You can't beat that. http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/deathcertificates/ Velda Wittenbrink Moore vel_chick@verizon.net http://www.larrett.com/velda/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilrcgs/ Hi All! I just came across this site that is provided by the Register of Deeds Office in Shelby County, Tennessee: http://register.shelby.tn.us/index.php On the right side of the screen is where you can search the Archives. You can search the TN Death Records from 1949-2005 and also Marriage and Divorce Records from 1980-2005. I found 14 STATLER's in the Death Records; 7 in the Marriage Records, and 1 in the Divorce Records. For you STETLER researchers out there: I found 2 in the Death Records; 3 in the Marriage and 0 in the Divorce. For the STOTLER researchers: I found 5 in the Death Records; 10 in the Marriage and 0 in the Divorce. If you know you had relatives in just Shelby County, TN, then there are other records you can search, but I didn't find any STATLER's in those. So, if you have TN family, you might want to check this site out. Have a great day! I've gotten this twice. Although I subscribe to the list, I have not sent any messages. Do I need to worry about it? Hello Everyone! The Treasurer's Office at the State of Missouri has a searchable unclaimed property database as they are trying to locate people for which the state is holding these said assets. If a business or bank cannot locate a person after five years, then the assets are turned over to the state for them to try and find the owners. To search, just go to this page: https://www.treasurer.mo.gov/search.asp Type in STATLER for the name and you'll see quite a list of people the state is looking for to return their assets. It will also tell you if the amount of the asset is under or over $50. Obviously, other surnames will work as well... If you find yourself in the list, just click on the checkbox next to the name and at the bottom of the list of names is a button to view the details of the entry. Just wanted to make everyone aware of this database as maybe you'll find yourself or a family member in there. Have a great day! David Statler
Hello Everyone! I received the following email (see below) over the weekend and wondered if anyone can help this person as the Stetler line is not in my direct field of research. Please contact him directly or I can also forward your notes to him. Thanks! David Statler -------- Original Message -------- Subject: "Family Genealogy Researcher" Date: Sat, 10 Feb 2007 21:49:59 -0600 From: Dean Thomson <dthomson@is-pthomson5.unl.edu> To: <dstatler@mail.mo.gov> Sir, I see you are researching the Stetlers and variations thereof. Let us start with J M Stetler. Supposedly this was his name now maybe it wasn't our records just say a Mr. stetler who married Sarah ann Mcginley daughter of John Mcginley who married William Hurrys daughter. (Liberty Bell ringer) One son was the author of A Poor Orphan Boy, John Mcginley Stetler. also a son named Abner stetler (1809-1899) who married Caroline Garrison (this is my line) a daughter Sarah Ann stetler who married a John Meredith Norris (I have their descendents also) also there was a William Stetler in the family. Does this limited amount of info fit in anywhere? Dean Thomson
Interestingly the Chedester/Chidester and Carter/Carder lines go into my Stutler lines. I belong to group 16 and some did go into Ohio. Anita Schultz-Peters

The Rebecca on that census is not the same Rebecca Pugh Moore from Bollinger Co. So far we have not proved her father nor the father of her siblings. My Rebecca was in KY in 1880. On your web site, you show her father as Willis Charles Pugh. Where did you get your information? Nancy Phillips She is my husbands great aunt and we have not been able to find that information.
Nancy, Can't help much, but I found this Rootsweb WorldConnect database that has a little more information than what we have in our database. It at least shows her siblings: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=:1986769&id=I552956636 Regards, David Statler Nancy Phillips wrote: >I am trying to prove who the father was of Rebecca Pugh Moore and her siblings.
