Hello Everyone! Just wanted to let you know of a few site updates... I now have Ellis Island records for STETTLER, STOTLER, and part of the STADLER immigrants on the site. There are over 610 Stadler records and since it is very hard to get into the Ellis Island site, I have only been able to obtain the first 100 records. I will continue to add to what is posted as I am able. Also, I have posted pictures that Mary Alice Blaylock sent me of part of Dr. Edwin Keith Statler's ledger "B." Dr. Edwin Statler was a family physician located in Sedgewickville, MO who treated just about every family in the area in every area from helping to give birth to pulling teeth. These pictures can be found in the Family Documents section. Until next time... David Statler Statler Family Webmaster Statler Family Genealogy Homepage: http://www.jcn1.com/mabccs/index.html
Hello Everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying a nice Spring... Who has time for genealogy, right? :-) I'm sure most of you have heard about the new website for searching databases of Ellis Island records. It's located at: http://www.ellisislandrecords.com How many of you have actually gotten in to the site and been able to do any searches? It's pretty difficult due to the excessive amount of people trying to use it. I've managed to get in only a few times, but in those times, I have been able to pull off some infomation that I have posted at the Statler Family Website. I've only been able to look up passenger lists for Statler and Stetler so far, but plan to post other spelling variations as soon as I am able to get in to the site again. For what I do have, you can check it out under the "Family Documents" section, then click on the "Ellis Island Records" link. Until Next Time... Hi all... I have very little on Peter...and no proved ancestors at this time. I have found reference to him on the LDS IGI...but no film numbers listed. Charlotte M. b 16 Nov 1842 PA (my line) Sarah Ellen b 17 Oct 1846 PA died young Alice A. b 1848 PA m George Foster John C. b 23 Oct 1851 PA 1850 PA census Peter was in Napier Twp., Bedford County, Pennsylvania, pg 61A; 1860 he was in Pike Twp., Muscatine County, Iowa. They moved in 1854 to Iowa. Many of the children's names are names that John b 1773 and his 2 wives used. Certainly hope someone has that missing link that has illuded me. Regards, Pam in FL
We do not have the answer to that question. The Statler & Walter connections are more than two hundred years ago & their are no stories. The Laurel connection had several write ups about this family but no point of origin. I would be interested in seeing your material. Regards, Donald
I too am hunting information on the Statlers. It is said that Casper was a brother to Samuel Statler and that is my line. Thanks Carrol Ann
Greetings: I have been researching the Stadtler family from Alsace. I found information on your family on Family Tree Maker's disk No. 403 of Selected U.S./International Marriage Records 1560-1900. It lists Caspar Statler, Rebecca Regina Walter, Peter etc. Statler and Walter names are both from Alsace. Did your family originate from Alsace? Do you know whether they came from Alsace or Germany? Please e-mail me if you need to know more information. Hello Everyone! Nope, it's not an April Fool's joke... The Statler Family database has been updated with over 380 additions! Some of the additions this time is on the Barney Rufus Statler line provided by Kelly Statler. Barbara Serini provided additional information on the Propst family which married into Statler's and Maxine Seabaugh has been researching the decendants of Huntell Barks this past winter along with Mary Alice Blaylock to provide more information on this line. Hope everyone has a great day! I know it is for me... it's payday! ha! Until next time... Happy Hunting! Dear Forrest, Thanks for the note re Geo. Statler Civil War photo for sale. Since Geo. is your ancestor, from whom in Pa. are you descended? Casper and Rebecca? I've noticed your name before and wondered if Orndorff might be Orendorf in Heidelberg Twp. I am descended from the Holstein and Lauer families there. My Statler ancestor is ABRAHAM STETTLER/STETLER from Bethel Twp. in present Lebanon Co. I have had no luck finding my Abraham before his arrival on the Thistle in 1738. Have you come across anything? My Statler family went to Piqua, Ohio in 1802. I am NOT (as far as I know) related to Geo. V. Statler Best - Susie Statler Shoemaker susiesho@bellsouth.net
