I gave a summary to the list in June: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/STATLER/2005-06/1118851203 Since then I have gotten two matching results from Group 16 the STUTLER family of Harrison County West Virginia. Their pattern is almost a match to the "Stettler" Groups 2, 4 and 8. Bottom line the project goes on. As always getting participant is difficult but I am not giving up.

I found an article, indicating the town of Morgantown (also called Caernarvon), Lancaster/Berks County, PA., had a spinning wheel maker by 1806. I also found, in the 1810 Census, that there was an Eml' (I'm assuming this is an abbreviation for Emanuel) Newswanger living in Caernarvon. Are the Newswanger's, in your genealogy searches, from this area of Pennsylvania? If so, do you have any information of an "E" Newswanger that made spinning wheels. Hi Bob, Franklin County is a few counties to the east of Somerset. Chambersburg is the county seat, but the Statler families lived just northeast of Greencastle in Antrim Township.
