    3. Hi Everyone! Just found out about this new resource for all of you researching West Virginia families: http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/ It's the WV Vital Records website and it contains scanned original birth, death and marriage records from the various counties. I found quite a few Statler's and Stotler's and I'm sure there are other various spellings as well. Hope all of you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving! David Statler Mailing List Admin.

    3. I gave a summary to the list in June: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/STATLER/2005-06/1118851203 Since then I have gotten two matching results from Group 16 the STUTLER family of Harrison County West Virginia. Their pattern is almost a match to the "Stettler" Groups 2, 4 and 8. Bottom line the project goes on. As always getting participant is difficult but I am not giving up.

    3. Hi All! This morning I received this note and thought I'd pass it on to all of you guys and gals who might have more knowledge about this. Thanks! David Statler -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Statler Family History Records Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 01:15:00 EDT From: Kandddad@aol.com To: dstatler@mail.mo.gov David Searching for information on an E or Emanual Newswanger, I ran across one of your "Statler Family History" Newsletters. It came up as I was bringing up E Newswanger on Google. I have an antique spinning wheel I'm researching. The makings of the wheel indicate it was made in the area of Lancaster County, PA. I estimate the wheel to have been made between 1810 and 1840. It's stamped as being made by an E Newswanger. I found an article, indicating the town of Morgantown (also called Caernarvon), Lancaster/Berks County, PA., had a spinning wheel maker by 1806. I also found, in the 1810 Census, that there was an Eml' (I'm assuming this is an abbreviation for Emanuel) Newswanger living in Caernarvon. Are the Newswanger's, in your genealogy searches, from this area of Pennsylvania? If so, do you have any information of an "E" Newswanger that made spinning wheels. If so, for my records, I'd love to have any information you might have on this maker of wheels. As you've probably guessed. I collect antique spinning wheels. Thank you, in advance, for your time. 3. Hi All... Got the following email from Virginia about that Statler Reunion info I sent. Guess it turns out that they are part of my family line after all... :-) Thanks Virginia! David Statler -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Statler Reunion in Ar Date: Thu, 18 Aug 2005 23:24:51 -0500 From: Virginglove@webtv.net (Ginger) To: dstatler@mail.mo.gov David, this group of Statlers was raised in and around Jonesboro, Walnut Ridge and Egypt Ar. I will get more info to you this weekend..Mary Alice, your Aunt(?) will know who they are. My father was George Fox Statler, his brother was Grover Statler. Their father was George E. Statler, born 1845, in Cape Girardeaux, Mo....his father was F. Wiley Statler(brn.1811) bolinger Co., Mo. My GGGrandfather was E. Christopher Statler(brn 1777) Loncoln Co., No. Carolina. I will try to do this better for you... This reunion was started about 25 yrs. ago with just my siblings (11) at our homes. When we got down to just 4 of us, we decided to try having it at Egypt, a central area for the Ar Statlers. Every year we ave had more of our 'kin' show up..It is great! We would welcome any and everyone to join us in this..We also invite the friends in and around Egypt because our group of Statlers has been getting smaller since 2003. We have lost 4 since 2003. I was at one time keeping up with the Statler website but just somehow set it on the back-burner altho I have worked on my family history.
