    3. We attended the FGS meeting and had  a booth there at the beginning of May a couple of years ago. It was 85 degrees the first day and snowed the rest of the week. We drove home to Los Angeles in white-out conditions nearly the entire length of the state. No way will I go to SLC in March. ________________________________ From: W David Samuelsen <dsam52@sampubco.com> To: state-coord@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2012 2:49 PM Subject: Re: [STATE-COORD] RootsTech2013 Question It was originally set for Feb 28-March 2, 2013, now I see it had been changed to March 21-23, 2013. "RootsTech 2013 will be held in the Salt Palace Convention Center March 21-23, 2013. It will be a gathering of technology users and technology creators who will be working together to find solutions to difficult family history and genealogy problems." Rootstech is not like NGS or FGS at all. Emphasis is on technology with genealogy. Booths are hard to get hold of. I have been to all, and the booths are emphasized on technology. No workshops about various sources. Exclusively half on technology development and half on how to use/apply technology to genealogy. You can see the syllabus from 2012 to get idea of what is in Rootstech. http://www.rootstech.org/downloads David Samuelsen On 8/28/2012 11:06 AM, Matthew D.
