This is probably my fault. I received the following email from John McCoy on Feb 2. That morning the nurse called me from the hospital where my husband had been since Dec 19. I spent the last 2 days of my husband's life (he died Feb 4) at the hospital. Since then there has been much to do, and Wyoming GenWeb was pretty far down on my list. But I really don't care what any of you think. I'll take 2 days with my husband over a lifetime of bitching any day. Circumstances are often not evident to visitors. As a volunteer organization, I like to look at the guidelines as goals. Sometimes it takes longer to get there, but as volunteers our best efforts are pretty durn good. Our region has States that still have some wide-open spaces, and that may mean that our volunteers are not as numerous, and perhaps are spread a little thin. If there is a problem that needs solving, and it is really important to a visitor, my suggestion would be for the visitor to offer to pitch in and help in any way possible, or ask if there's another place where queries can be posted while something is under construction. Structure, rules and boundaries are more important to some folks than others, but here in New Mexico, the volunteers were named "The Wild Bunch" by one of the longest-serving volunteers for our independence. Teddy Roosevelt recruited "The Rough Riders" here for the Spanish American War, after all! I am heartened that our leadership is voicing support for WYGenWeb and understanding of the situation. One size does not fit all when it comes to volunteer organizations. Suzanne, I am so sorry that you have had to experience all this with the loss of your husband. Family is always more important than hobbies or genealogy. I would have done the same. Please accept my condolences on your loss. Jan Cortez ----- Original Message ----- From: "Suzanne Leonard" <sleonard@wyoming.com> > This is probably my fault.
