It is with great pleasure that the surfing committee announces the 2003 County of the Year Award goes to Kaufman County, Abby Balderama CC. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txkaufma/ Kaufman County has undergone a great deal of change in the last year and is truly one of the TXGenWeb's best. Abby has put forth a lot of effort in maintaining the site as well as adding information on a regular basis. The outstanding features on the Kaufman County website are the Photos, Places in Kaufman County that No Longer Exist, and Biographies pages, as well as a FAQ's and a Newbie page. The Honorable Mention counties for the year 2003 (and their outstanding features) are: Andrews CC: Tami Ramsey Information on various Texas Indian Tribes, Haunted Places in Andrews County, and Deciphering Old Handwriting Bosque CC: Bettie & Bob Wood Photo Album and Story Book, a well informed site that is pleasant to visit Donley CC: LaRae Halsey-Brooks & Eireann Brooks Ranches and Texas Prehistory Gregg CC: Elaine Martin & Sharon Pierce Photo Gallery and Historic Homes Red River CC: Cynthia Samples Photo Album and Welcome and Come again signs Upshur CC: Sharon Pierce & Elaine Martin Photographic Tour and Scrapbook Val Verde CC: Teri Brown Texas Old Photos and Vintage Postcards Congratulations to Kaufman County and all the Honorable Mention Counties as well.
