S. GenWeb, never GenWeb. The rules above do help to pick the winners, as the competition can be terrific. In order to be considered for the award, your county web site has to be in compliance with the USGenWeb and TXGenWeb rules. We don't have many rules in TXGenWeb, most of the rules are on the USGenWeb site. You can read all about it at http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgenweb/surfing/ We have a group of volunteers that surf about 20-25 counties every month and nominate one county from their region. Then the finalization committee picks the winner for the month from all the regions. At the end of the year, the 12 monthly winners are eligible for the County of the Year award. We are always looking for more volunteers for the surfing committee. You don't have to be a CC in Texas, or anywhere else for that matter. Thanks for asking. It is a lot more fun talking about this than about what happened to OU in the last two football games. ugh. David David W.
