As the new State Coordinator in Idaho, I wanted to let you all know that we have some vacancies among our ranks and to let you know that we are inviting individuals who might be interested in joining our state project to express their interest. We are currently seeking new coordinators for the following counties: Adams, Bannock, Butte, Camas, Custer, Elmore, Lincoln, Minidoka You do not have to reside in or near a county in order to serve as coordinator but you should have some understanding of the county you volunteer to adopt, with ideally a personal connection within your ancestral family and/or some experience researching families who have lived there. Please review our "draft" Guidelines for IDGENWEB members at http://www.idgenweb.org/idgenweb_main_volunteers.php. They may change (we are discussing them now) before being formally adopted but the draft will give you a reasonable idea of what will be expected. Appointments are made by the State Coordinator after reviewing the applicant's interest, background and experience, and in consultation with the Assistant State Coordinator. Although successful experience in other USGENWEB projects is a plus, it is not required in order to be appointed. You would be joining a talented and enjoyable group of coordinators and we invite any of you who have Idaho connections to apply. Note that there are several other counties which will likely become available by the end of the year. We would be happy to place you on the waiting list for any of our other counties, giving you priority consideration when a county you are interested in becomes available. If you are not personally interested, but know someone who might be, you are encourage you to pass this announcement on to those individuals. Mike St. Clair State Coordinator - IDGENWEB
