    3. On Tuesday, we were informed that our account at BlueHost.com was over their (heretofore unheard of) file limit of 50,000 at a whopping 202370. I believe I have found a workable solution that we can pay for through donations from our CCs. Over half the Indiana Counties are sharing the ingenweb.org domain. We are currently moving to DreamHost.com with a much higher file limit and the ability to upgrade to VPS for $218. more per year. Are other states having these issues as well? Some of you may want to be aware of this for future reference. Debby Beheler [email protected] State Coordinator INGenWeb Project http://www.ingenweb.org

    3. Debbie, I got my first notice about 3 months ago for one account that I have there. It had over 308,000 files on it. I got the notice for the second account about a month ago - we had about 248,000 files on that account. We deleted hundreds of thousands of files from the first account and still have it there (but I'm not happy with it), and the second account I moved to ixwebhosting.com about 3 weeks ago. The first account is a KY Special Project site (KY Vital Records Project at http://kyvitals.com/. The second account started out as a personal account, but it houses about 1/2 of the KYGenWeb County sites and also will soon once again house the http://kygenweb.net domain (KYGenWeb Project). So far, no problems with ixwebhosting. I was thoroughly disappointed in BlueHost.com's change in policy and the fact that this little 'hiccup'suddenly appeared and no one knew about it - and it's not written ANYWHERE for an account holder to be aware of. 3. I too share your disappointment and have warned Larry Flesher that we may hit the same problem in MOGENWEB. I've also attempted to let the Bluehost president know of the problem and impact of this new unadvertised policy. Time will only tell if I really got through. If the policy remains the same, it's going to cost them literally hundreds of accounts in the world of genealogy. I suspect a similar impact will occur in other areas. And if they don't get that limit posted for new users, I will feel impelled to stop recommending them. I am looking at other hosting options in preparation for a potential move of MOGENWEB. IDGENWEB appears to currently be well within the limit. I'd greatly appreciate hearing from other states about their experience with other hosts. And by the way, this does break my heart because I've been a long time Bluehost user and have a good number of accounts. The performance, features and service have been great. I can't say the same about half a dozen other vendors I used before. It's been somewhat like rolling the dice before I came to Bluehost. There were massive downsides on every vendor I had used.
