    3. I sent Illinois in on May 1. It didn't bounce back to me. I don't see it noted on the status. We have received a second request from a different person who obviously didn't find it either. I have sympathy for those trying to get it all together. I'm willing to resend it once - just tell me where. 3. Jan and all, I am not certain if there is still a status page to reflect who has reported their changes and who has not. I can say prior to the introduction of the form for SC’s to report their changes there was. Since the form introduction, I believe there is a combination of State Coordinators using the form and those sending their updates to the Election Committee members manually a via excel spreadsheets. It is important, if State Coordinators are responding to the Excel sheets, that they clearly delineate the changes. Sending the sheet back without the changes, delineated places your EC member, in the position to visit you XXGenWeb pages to ascertain the changes. Many of the Election Committee members are very new to their role this year and they are all working very hard to prepare for our National elections. They are doing their best to prepare for the Election season. As experienced State Coordinators it might be wise and prudent for all of us to take the initiative to follow up with your representative. It would be terrific to connect with the EC members and assist them in their very important role they each provide to the Project! 1. Re: [STATE-COORD] Election updates
    2. Linda Blum-Barton
    3. Sue, To answer a couple of your questions: 1 - You are not required to be subscribed to the Board Mailing List. You can subscribe to it in read only mode if you are interested in following the list which is the Advisory Board's public list where they vote on motions and post announcements. http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/other/USGenWeb/BOARD.html 2 - If you registered to vote last year, you should not have to register again. Your registration stands from year to year and no one can change your registration except you. The only reason you should have to change that is if your positions within the project change, ie you adopt a new site or give one up. You can verify your registration status and make changes to it at any time (except during elections) using the form here: http://www.usgwelections.org/ 3 - The election referred to in Gayle's message would be The USGenWeb Project's national election held each year for members of the Advisory Board and National Coordinator. Hope this helps. This email mentions a Board mailing list, which I know nothing about. As an Assistant State Coordinator, am I supposed to be subscribed to the Board list?  Or just the State Coordinators list? I have not been receiving emails from any GenWeb lists until just recently.  Maybe there just hasn't been much activity lately. Also, a recent message from Gayle stated, "Thanks for all your help it is very important that we get this done with afew days to spare so that anyone not already entered into the Election system has time to register to vote before it is shut down to registrations on May 30, 2013." Is this referring to our annual election?  I have received nothing at all prior to this that mentions voter registration.  Last year, we registered to vote in July.  Is it early this year?  I have not registered to vote this year, nor have I received anything as a reminder.  Can someone please clarify this for me? 3. OK.  I'm confused.  About several things. Thank you very much! ~ Sue ----- Original Message ----- From: state-coord@rootsweb.com To: Cc: Sent:Sun, 21 Apr 2013 14:03:20 -0400 Subject:Re: [STATE-COORD] Election updates As many of you may not be subscribed to the Board mailing list, I would like to supplement Gayle's email by introducing you all to your new Election Committee volunteers! 1. [STATE-COORD] TNGenWeb Research Challenge - Return 1913 Postcard to Its Family
    2. Taneya
    3. *pardon any cross-posting* Hi everyone, We are in need of help to get a 1913 postcard back into the hands of the family. To do this, we've created a fun research challenge (along with a chance to win a free mug). In light of us being part of the USGenWeb project, the rules include using only FREE resources in the process. More details on our blog at http://tngenweb.org/blog/tngenweb-research-challenge-springtime-giveaway/. Please consider sharing with any one you think may be interested in helping us solve the puzzle. :-) If you have ideas, you can email me directly at taneya@gmail.com. 1. [STATE-COORD] Election updates
    2. Gayle Triller
    3. Hello Everyone, The EC is asking all of you for your help. Because of circumstances beyond the control of all of us we did not have an EC for most of this year. We now have one and they will be sending out their requests for your updates starting today. Because we have less than 6 weeks for any members not previously added to the membership to get registered to vote it is important that all the updates are turned in quickly so that I can get them added with time left over for them to register. After the last election we lost some of our members so many of you have not received a request for updates in a year so please request a spread sheet so that you can compare. We want to make sure that everyone who wants to vote has the chance. If you want to send in updates without waiting for a request from the EC you can do so using this form http://usgenweb.org/usgwelections/updates.html you are always welcome to send in your updates as they happen making it easier on you and me. Thank you for taking care of your updates promplty. Gayle

    1. [STATE-COORD] Call for Election Committee Volunteers
    2. Tina Vickery
    3. Our annual election is just around the corner, and a majority of the EC positions are being vacated as long time volunteers are moving on or retiring. We need several volunteers to fill the vacant positions on the Election Committee. Any member of the project eligible to vote is eligible for membership in the EC, the exception being members of the Advisory Board. Please consider volunteering to the Election Committee. The EC is an interesting and very friendly group; and next to maintaining your individual web sites, the work you will do with this committee is one of the most important and necessary jobs in the USGenWeb. The EC is charged with conducting the National Election each summer, but also conducts appropriate polls and SC elections upon request, as well as maintaining the member and voter registration lists.
