Ladies and Gentlemen: I would like to apologize for the incorrect posting of the Election Results that I did this morning. Election Committee members were hard at work checking and rechecking the election announcement e-mails for hours this morning. When I was notified that the Election Results e-mail was ready to be sent to the lists I copied one of the e-mails that contained an error. In other words you are saying that the project members are under "mob rule". Any time somebody wants to get rid of somebody, they can make up a "petition" have how ever many people they can bully into it sign it and force it through. Ridiculous. Aren't you supposed to be a candidate for NC? I would think you would think before sticking your foot so deeply into your mouth. There is a reason for rules, and it's not just to bend them to whatever your whims may be (although previous NCs have done this and gotten away with it over and over again). The petition for recall is flat out not valid. You want a recall, pass an amendment and make some useful procedures. Otherwise, ***please get this stuff off this list and do some genealogy*** (or at least web page creation). No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that procedures in Sturgis apply. Folks, I think this is the operative phrase: >There are no provisions for a Recall in USGenWeb Bylaws Sorry to say, Keith and all, Patrick is correct. If the By-laws committee will propose an amendment, post it, allow voting on the issue and enact it, I'm sure we can proceed. Until then, this action is not supported by our By-laws. There was a repeated call for volunteers for the Bylaws Amendments committee. How many of the signators to this recall petition volunteered? Derick S. Project Members are bound by three things: Bylaws, Parliamentary Authority, Laws of the Land. Our bylaws allow the use of parliamentary authority where they do not speak. Check out parliamentary authority and you will find the justification for members of an organization taking disciplinary measures in regard to another member. It's under the topic "Rights of An Organization." Check out the laws of the land and you will find the right to "circulate" a petition to request a governing body take whatever action the petition specifies. Should this petition be presented to the Advisory Board, the members of that body will have to make a decision as to what to do. There should be absolutely no doubt as to the rights of members to present it to the general membership, nor to the rights of members to sign it. Keith and the rest of you who have signed this "petition"... There are no provisions for a Recall in USGenWeb Bylaws since the majority of voters were not enough in the 2000 election, when there was a provision for Recall put before the voters. And if I remember correctly, MANY of the people who have signed your illegal petition were against the Recall Amendment. **Now isn't that the pot calling the kettle black.** Now, why don't you just crawl back under your rock, shrivel up, die and leave the rest of us volunteers who don't care about your stupid political games alone. Then why don't you come begging to me to propose it again next year. I didn't this year because I didn't have time. Til then, get this garbage off this list and stop f***ing fighting!
