    1. Re: [STATE-COORD-L] number of Project members?
    2. Susan W Pieroth
    3. I'm not sure I know of one good reason to count. I think of all the regular members of the RIGenWeb mailing list (not a coordinators' list) as "members" as well as everyone who has contributed in any way. I don't count or keep lists. Just my grouchy opinion. 1. [STATE-COORD-L] number of Project members?
    2. Tim Stowell
    3. When you count, what you consider to be the number of Project members for your state - do you, in your state count only the voting members or do you also include the transcribers and/or other special task persons? If you include the later what percent of your total members would be a fair number to use? The reason for this question is because of a request I've received asking how many members, ball park figure we have. According to the EC we have approximately 2400 voting members as of the last election. Therefore would a figure of between 2500 and 3000 be about right for the total membership as you see it? 1. [STATE-COORD-L] NCGenWeb Project happenings
    2. Derick S. Hartshorn
    3. Hi Folks, We are currently trying to inventory our counties to see if the folks who host them have slipped under our radar. We aren't having any major problems but have discovered that a few counties have been left alone for some time. Often times, the county coordinators have taken on more than they can handle and the entire Project suffers. The genealogical public that seeks our help is the ultimate victim. Several abandoned counties have been assigned to a helper who has been getting them back up-to-speed before turning them over to a qualified volunteer. Very few problems exist at the present time and we are in a building mode. We need to determine where we stand on Archives, Census and Special Projects. Volunteers deserve as much help as they need. We need to be able to provide these resources--or at least have support pages to go to. I am not subbed to the NCGENWEB-DISCUSS at my own request. If you have a communication to addres to me, please use my posted address < nc@usgenweb.org > Thanks to all the volunteers for doing such a great job. I think the vast majority of your pages really show how much you care. Let's all strive for continued excellence. Many have already achieved it. Let's try to help other CCs, where our help is welcome, and interact so everyone knows the other members of the family. Derick S.
