I have a suggestion. Why don't the Governor reduce ALL STATE SALARIES by at least 10 per cent and reduce every state office personnel by 5%. Don't close the state archives. Or maybe Michigan should just get another Governor and state officials. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Harold Kilmer, NMGenWeb SC http://www.nmgenweb.us/ ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 10, 2009 11:05 AM Subject: Re: [STATE-COORD] Closing of Michigan State Library and Archives > It seems at least possible that the library and archives may be protected > by the state constitution...I wonder if this is the case. > http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(w2nrvyqqlelvjeynciwgrx45))/mileg.aspx?page=MCLconstitutionSearch > -------------- Original message from betty thomas > <[email protected]>: -------------- > > Some of you may already know that the Gov. of the state of Michigan wants > to close the Michigan State Library and Archives {meaning the archives > would be sold or thrown away!!] All to make up a budget deficit of several > BILLION dollars.
