    3. Hi everyone, or O'siyo as I have just learned. Assuming that Adam and Hannah knew what they were putting on the 1850 census for the birthplaces of their children (I know that later on their birth places are shown differently for several of them), but assuming, as I said, that they put the right places down on that census then Adam was born in VA about 1799, and the children born in Ohio in the mid 1820's through about 1838. Then two children born in Illinois about 1840 and 1842, and then on to Missouri where Givens was born in 1844 etc. Diana mentioned once that Mary Jane was supposed to have been born in Jackson Co., OH (abt 1832). There is a land patent for an "Adam Starr of Jackson County, Ohio..." which was signed on June 25, 1841. That doesn't exactly match what is on the census for dating. However, it is very much a coincidence don't you think? Anyway, there are also land patents in Illinois for "Adam Starr", two in Logan Co (1837 and 1839) and one in Vermilion Co. (1826) which states "Adam Starr of Sangamon County, Illinois...". The 1830 census index for Ohio says there is an entry for Adam Starr in Jackson Co. However, I could not find it on the film. Does anyone have that? In VA here is what is in the index: 1787 census: Jacob, Merick, Michael, and Thomas Starr 1790 census: Catherine Starr 1810 census: Elizabeth, Fredrick, John, and Richard Starr 1820 census: Anthony, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Hezekiah, Jeremiah, John, John, Richard, and William Starr 1830 census: Henry, Jr., Henry, Sr, James, Jeremiah, Lewis, and Peter Starr Too bad the older census' don't have family members listed by name. On the 1830 Ohio census there are a lot of Starrs. On the 1840 Ohio census there are LOTS of Starrs. Just like the stars in the sky, there are sooooo many of them. We'll all keep searching until we can connect the dots. Have a great day. Crystal
