Go, girl, go! Places of birth changed -- maybe due to survival or maybe because the boundary lines seem to have changed back then pretty rapidly -- due to fighting and just "taking" of land. Could be for any reason yu can probably come up with. Wow! I had read somewhere that John Starr married more than once. Amazing. He sounds like my Givens' mother, Mary Emeline Winters (who married Thomas, Starr, Kneiber, Connelly). I guess back then, when a spouse died, you just married someone else for survival.... Men remarried because they needed someone to cook, clean, care for the kids. I don't think love entered into the arrangement -- at least it wasn't the most important reason for remarriage. Survival seems to be that reason. I'm looking forward to learning who the other wives of John were and the names of their children. Wow! This is really great stuff, Lynette. Keep up the good work.
