Matt, My name is Dawn Starr Wilson. I have been monitoring the conversations for almost a year now and collecting info as I go. I am from the Capt. John Starr Line. I would like access to the newly created "Starr Digest" site. I used to have a username etc. for the Capt. Starr family site but it's been too long since I used it and I can't remember it. Do you know if their is a way to find out what it was?? I guess I should check in there more often so I'll remember it. Any help would be appreciated at this point. Thanks a bunch. Dawn

I thought since all this Starr activity was taking place I would again try my Laura Starr! I just was given a copy of a page from the Covington KY city directory from 1884 that lists Laura Starr living at 817 Russell St. There is also a E.J. Starr at the same address and he lists his occupation as a Blacksmith. I assume this was Lauras Father. Anyone know of him? Laura Sarah Starr m. Also, I don't think this is the same Saphronia -- this one seems to have been born in 1851 and ours was born in 1830. So, the Saphronia Criswell Cross is NOT the daughter of Adam and Hannah after all. And, another thought -- this Saphronia could be a daughter of one of our Starrs -- even Saphronia's daughter. Daughter to one of our Starrs? Could be definitely. Any thoughts????? I have come across this name -- Saphronia/Saphrona/Sophronia/roni before and she wasn't a Starr. Interesting stuff though isn't it? di TexasRio@aol.com wrote: > --part1_0.4a8204de.2551c362_boundary > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > > Hello everyone...Well more coincidences my greatgrandmother was a > Cross and her father in law was ANDREW A, STARR -PERMILIA(millie) PEARSON > FAMILY family from JOHN and TABITHA ties into interesting saga of cattle > drive with andrew and curly bob,,john and grandson hankins living with > him,,,off of pearson line with info of thomas starr,,,now a saphronia we > thought was a Starr could she be a cross? because alot of my info too came > from cross bible....could have been transposed to other starr members > incorrect line? Saphrona or Saphronia -- is a daughter of Adam and Hannah Starr and sister to John, Henry, Orville, Givens, Jesse, George, and Andrew H., and to Eliza, Lottie, Edna, Catherine and Mary Jane...oh, and Sally. Saphronia was born in 1830... She's the second child, the first being Lottie who was born in 1826 -- nothing on her and I suspect she died either at birth or as a child... Hey, write the book. I'll buy it! di TexasRio@aol.com wrote: > --part1_0.4a8204de.2551c362_boundary > Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" > Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > > Hello everyone...Well more coincidences my greatgrandmother was a > Cross and her father in law was ANDREW A, STARR -PERMILIA(millie) PEARSON > FAMILY family from JOHN and TABITHA ties into interesting saga of cattle > drive with andrew and curly bob,,john and grandson hankins living with > him,,,off of pearson line with info of thomas starr,,,now a saphronia we > thought was a Starr could she be a cross? because alot of my info too came > from cross bible....could have been transposed to other starr members > incorrect line? William David on Genealogy of Old and New Cherokee Families. also listed were Mary Paulina Starr m. Austen Rider, Nancy "Nannie" Rider m. My family story is that James Starr my 2rd ggrandfather was married five times and had 21 Children! but, this shows the problem and confussion with our families...and this is the reason i feel that we are all family members with all the Georges, James, John's, Andrew's, William's, Jaspers, Jacksons and such, that they named their children after father's, grandfather, brother's or uncle's! They were maninly all living in the same areas at one time or another! Some living to go else where, for one reason or another...mine stayed in AR., while the Uncles moved to TX., Rush Co., TN., even some in Al., KY...i find a Henry and James in Al., along with my Garland's, Penningtons, Turpins, and such...just wanted to send a outline, of why i feel the way that i do...and look at the family stories, they all claim Cherokee blood! I believe that if we all work together, we just might come up with a solution! What's ya'll think? Carol Ann,
This is Clara, please include me in the new web page. I am putting so much STARR information to my family tree, that I am about crosseyed. Yes Marie, I do have more, and since you could receive it...maybe the others were able to see it too! I will up-load as i scan the material, if you would like to have it! Carol Ann,
Carol Ann, I was able to view the Cherokee roll you sent. And I viewed it on the Starr page. Did you send another attachment? That original roll was fascinating. It was huge for the screen and I only saw one page. I had to go to "view" and click on reduce font. But that worked fine. Is this the attachment you meant? Well, it seems that the attachment did not make it to you all! I am not very good at putting these things in a FTP file, my husband does all that, so i will try to add a new webpage to our site and hopefully we have not uses up all our web space...if so, i will start a new web page and just have it of my documents...what do ya'll say to that? Carol Ann,
Hi Ya'LL Starr's! It's cold here to and wanted to let everyone know that i have lots of info to share, just need to put it all into the database...when i do, i will let each one of you know when completed! Or i will upload it a bit at a time...hope you got the enrollment application of the Cherokee Starr's have lots more too! This has been a 36 hour a day for the past five years doing research at AR., MO., TN., KY., NC., PA., Historical Societies in AR., NC., GA., Washington D.C.
