Lynette, If you kept the census from 1850 that I sent you, you'll see that Adam, Hannah, Andrew, Mary Jane, John, George, Orville, Catherine, Eliza, Givens, Henry were all listed as being there -- Camden Co, MO on that 1850 census. Jessie is not mentioned but he would have been 4 yrs old then; Saphronia and Sally and Edna aren't mentioned either -- of course Edna wasn't born yet and who knows about the others. Maybe they were visiting cousins or something and therefore just not there at the time the census was taken. There could be a number of reasons why their names weren't listed. Who knows. di TexasRio@aol.com wrote: > were did info of brothers - sisters births deaths ect census be found > at...were in ohio---mo. that has chidren of adam hanna listed? looking > to recheck info i have,,,lynette

All this Starr activity and I really feel like MY Starr's must have come from another Universe. I haven't been able to come up with any Starr link past my Great Grandmother Laura Sarah Starr. But I did recieve a page from the Covington City directory from 1884 that listed my GGrandmother Laura Starr at the same address as a E.J. Starr, he is listed as a blacksmith. I don't think this was a husband because she married my Great Grandfather John M. Kemper, so he must have been her Father or Brother. Then I found a E. Starr in the 18?0 census with a Mary and he is listed as Carriage smith and born in Pa. but living in Covington at that time. Covington KY and Cincinatti Ohio are practically considered the same city. I am planning to go to Cincinatti and Covington this Thursday for the sole purpose of getting to the bottom of this. Does anyone have any Starr's in Cincinatti they want me to look up? My Laura Starr was adopted by the Starr family, I just don't know which one! ---------- > From: Norman C. Jim, Please include me on the reinvite list. My computer has screwed up the last few days. Please send me the site address for the page. For some reason I can't import my other bookmarks to this program. Odd that they can tell you they know your program is corrupted. For some reason no one can tell me how it happened. So, I don't know what to avoid doing in the future. I know that some folks get a little miffed when something comes across a list that isn't strictly genealogy facts, but I hope you all enjoy this poem that came on my Leggett list yesterday. It seem that we all share the same research problems. Kinsman (original poem by Wayne Hand, 1999) Alas, my elusive kinsman You've led me quite a chase. I thought I'd found your courthouse But the Yankees burned the place. You always kept your bags packed Although you had no fame; and Just for the fun of it, Twice you changed your name. You never owed any man, or At least I found no bills In spite of eleven offspring You never left a will. They say our name's from Europe Came state side on a ship. Either they lost the passenger list Or granddad gave them the slip. I'm the only one looking, Another searcher I can't find. I pray, "maybe that's his father's name", As I go out of my mind. They said you had a headstone In a shady plot. I've been there twenty times, and Can't even find the lot. You never wrote a letter, Your Bible we can't find. It's probably in some attic Out of sight and out of mind. You first married a ......Smith And just to set the tone, The other four were Sarahs And every one a Jones. You cost me two fortunes, One of which I did not have, My wife, my house and Fido. Oh, how I miss that yellow lab. But somewhere you slipped up, Ole Boy, Somewhere you left a track. And if I don't find you this year Well.......Next year I'll be back!

Lynette, that would be great. You have helped all of us alot with your latest information posted. I, too would like to know the census information, etc. on Adam and Hannah's children. I look forward to seeing that put on by someone as well. Thanks to you all. Crystal TexasRio@aol.com wrote: > Givens at 16 was working for a ranch and had no family. John M. Every time I see a Starr like this in Texas that was born between 1860-1870 I can't help but wonder if it is one of Orville and Susan's orphaned children. I may never know, but he would fit--being named after Orville's brother, Givens and all. Just hoping to find some of them and prove it someday. Good girl! Now your search has refreshed our memories and we can be on the lookout for information. Have you checked with the MO sites? I was on for Pulaski Co for awhile and found nothing but I am sure you might be able to find something from Hamilton Co... It was a part of rootsweb.com I think. MOPulaskCO.com??? I threw everything out since there was nothing there for me....Can someone come up with the correct address? I hope so. If not, I'll try and find it again. Surely I kept one piece of paper from them??? Also, have you looked in FamilySearch.org (or com)? It's the latter day saints search engine... You might find something there.
