Bob, We estimate "my David Starr" to have been born about 1816 from information on the 1850 Ar. census. Do you by any chance have a Johnson Starr in those records of folks in Ohio? I found listed on the 1840 Pulaski Co., Mo. census a David Starr between the ages of 20-30 with a wife the same age. Living close to him was a Johnson Starr of the right age to be his father. These census do not list names of children-only how many and their approximate ages. Also living close by was a Hezekiah Sneed. David was married to Emeline and we think her last name was Sneed/Snead. This was in Pulaski Co., District 72, Pulaski County, Mo. I did not find a place listed on that census that asked where they were born. And, just to make it a little more confusing, there is also found in Johnson Co., Mo. in 1840 another David Starr. I haven't seen the census numbers on that one. This is a note where my Mother found him listed. David and his family were in Scott Co., Ar. by the 1850 census. They stayed in that area and are buried there. David had a son James Amos who had a son William David "Bill". Bill Starr and Pherbia Coppak Starr were the parents of my grandfather James Omar Starr. Do you have a record of the first David in your notes? Marie As far as I know, none of my Starr line came to AR; but, you are right, there have been several 'of them' either move here or pass through. My Starr notebook has about 6 dividers, each a differant line from PA to TN, AR, MO and TX. It's that one line of James to Lewis that keeps eluding me. Maybe we will find that your David's dad and my Lewis' dad were brother back in OH. Later Chuck Believe in the power of Love, Smiles, Hugs, Truth, Peace, and Dreams.

Hey Y'all, I have some new names I want to ask about. Does anyone have any records of a Johnson Starr or a Noble Starr? Found them in census and thought I'd ask. Johnson was in the 1840 Missouri census and Noble was in 1820 Ohio census. Marie
> Hi Diane: I saw your message and the use of the Starr name as a middle name and the Baltimore refrence made me think of my grandmother Florence Starr Gallagher born and married in Baltimore. Her mother was Mary Ellen Starr who married a William H Galagher in Cumberland MD. Her father was William Starr born England came to VA as a child with his parents Jere Starr and Rebeca Cotton Starr. Possibly your Joseph was one of the uncles my grandmother and her sister mentioned who lived in Baltimore when they were children. Mary Ellen Starr's mother was Sarha Small also from VA as far as I have found. If any of this seems to connect you can e-mail me at alice211@juno.com Alice ============================== > Well, di... > I have the same problem... the standstill one. Yes, Diane, You are correct. Patience. I do believe we will all find what we seek if we are patient and keep plugging away. I will keep a lookout for anything on your Joseph Starr Crane. Should I come across anything at all, I will let you know. Take care and keep searching! di KatyScarlt@aol.com wrote: > Well, di... > I have the same problem... the standstill one.
