Hi, At the time I was not sure of my Starr ancestors, I obtained a ZEROX copy of the Starr book by Burgess Pratt Starr (Comfort Starr line) from the library in Washington, D. C. where all copyrighted books are held--can't give it it's exact name right now. I do not need this copy since I now know that the family of Comfort Starr is not my line. I will give and send this to anyone who would like to have it and who will pay postage to have it sent to them. If there is anyone who is interested, I will send it to the first request that I receive. Doris Forsyth
You all might want to check this page. I looked under Starr for WWII and there were quite a few. The page can also be navigated back to check on some war dead from previous wars. Marie http://www.americanwardead.com/Searchww.htm
Hi! I'm another one with a gt-gt-grandfather named John STARR. He was born 1801 according to his age at death. He married Leah SMITH who was born in Berks Co. They moved to Ohio and then Michigan in the 1830s. Their buried in Berrien Co., MI. Any info I can get would be helpful. I've read a ton of books and magazines from PA with not clue to which STARR family he belongs to. Thanks, Mary.

I should have gone on to say they all descend from: Moses Starr b. 8-27-1692 d. 6-11-1767 One of the five brothers for Old Castle, Ireland.... Deborah King b. ? son...James b.12-13-1724 James b. 3-31-1769 James b. 1805 This would be the James III who married Phebe Hilles If that is too confusing ....I can do that again....Sandy ----- Original Message ----- From: <STARR-D-request@rootsweb.com> To: <STARR-D@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2000 9:00 AM Subject: STARR-D Digest V00 #64

Hello, Robin, Got your message, please keep me in mind if you find anything, I would be so grateful. I will print out your response so If I come across anything for you will be glad to send it to you. Kittie
Hi Kittie, I'm not a computer whiz, and I replied once to your e-mail but then wondered if it was sent...so at the risk of showing how stupid I am about this kind of thing, I'll repeat the message and hope that you get it this time! I haven't run across the names you sent in my research, but I'll keep my eyes open for them and let you know if I find anything you might be interested in. My great grandfather, Asa STARR, had one brother, named Joseph who moved to Oaklahoma, and died there sometime after 1900 (I think) He was married to Sarah ?. I'm sure they had children, but have no other information on them...your people could be from that line...? Anyway, keep looking and good luck. Will get in touch if I run across your names. Wish I could help, but haven't run across those names in my line. I'll keep my eyes open for them and let you know if I stumble across anything that I think might be of interest to you. My line comes from Wisconsin and I am at a roadblock with Vine Starr b.1810 in New York. I have found a Starr line which includes many 'Vine" given names, and am sure that's the family, I just can't connect... Good luck in your search.
