Hello Denny, I am very new to this list and very recently I entered a query about the family of a James STANTON. There probably isn't any connection. If you read it thoroughly you might have noticed that a brother of James b.Ireland 1833 was touched on. This Thomas was born in Ireland also around 1829. Both had a father James and their mother for sure was Isabella. They entered the port of New York in 1843 and went to Scarborough Ontario. As far as I know Thomas never settled even for a little while in Vermont. I found out just since I submitted this last query that there was a civil war veteran named Christopher STANTON b. 1841 in Ireland. That was the last child James and Isabella had in Ireland. If I find that this Christopher was a veteran and settled in New York City after the war, there is the possibility that other sons of James and Isabella served also and this would include Thomas. I don't consider these STANTONS as Vermont STANTONS in that I have never made a connection with the ones that go way back. However, some others who have taked to me say that I should not rule this out. So let's say I have an open mind. Let me hear from you . Sincerely Muriel C. Allen
