The other day ther was a message soliciting information re. Elizabeth Bonner. This looks like a different Elizabeth Bonner with a Stanton connection, but I bring it up in case it might be helpful. According to The Throop Tree, by Walter & Beryl Throop, Throop Press, La Mirada, CA, 1971, Elizabeth Bonner b. 1787-1794 m. Rev. Phares Throop b. 1787-1794 of Alexandria, VA (no m. date). Their children were 1) son b. 1794-1804, 2) son b. 1804-1810, 3) Dr. Phares Throop b. 1809, Alexandria d. Mar. 1860, m. Amanda Harwood, 4) Asenath Throop m. Richard Henry STANTON, 5) Benjamin Baden Throop, b. 2 Nov 1813, Alexandria, d 28 Aug 1874 Anderson, TX, m. Annie Reed, b. 1 Jan 1817, Mays Lick, KY, d. 19 Nov 1881, Anderson, TX and 6) Joseph Throop, b. 1820, VA m. Mary C., b. 1820, KY. The Washington, DC Marriage register (online at Family Tree Maker's genealogy library) has the bride's name as Elizabeth Bonne, but that could be an error of the OCR technology used to transcribe the register. I have not yet written to the DC Marriage Registry folks to clear this up. Asenath Throop and Richard Henry Stanton were my GG gp's through their daughter Asenath Throop Stanton, b. 24 May 1843, d. Aft. 20 Jun 1929, said to have been of "Fernbank," OH, (seems to be a neighborhood of Cincinnatti) who m. 1 May 1866, in Maysville, KY Throckmorton Forman, b. 27 Mar 1842, d. aft. 20 Jun 1929. Richard Henry Stanton and Asenath Throop were married in DC on 19 Sep 1833 (again according to The online DC marriage registry). They moved ot Maysville, Ky where he was a lawyer, judge & congressman. See Biographical Directory of the American Congress, 1774-1996, p. 1872. Richard's brother Frederick Perry Stanton was also a congressman (from Tennesee, see. p. 1871). The parents of Richard and Frederick were Richard Stanton and Harriet Perry, married in DC on 29 Sep 1811 (again see the online DC registry). Other than this I know nothing of the ancestry of Richard Henry Stanton and would appreciate any help. I do have some information on two sons of Richard Henry Stanton and Asenath Throop in case anyone is interested. Bob Scheele Madison, WI
