    3. Hi Helen, Thank you for responding to my query. According to the LDS records I am descended from Samuel Stanton, b. Jun 25, 1736 and Mary Marshall b. Sep 8, 1750 (no location). Samuel was the son of Benjamin Stanton, b. about 1710 (does not give location). The only geographical reference given begins with Samuel's son, David, b. Jan 29, 1779 Nantucket. David married Ann Reynolds of Guilford County, NC, b. Feb 21, 1785. Their daughter was Mary Stanton of Guilford Co, NC, married to Enoch Farlow, Jr. of Randolph County, NC, my 2nd great grandparents. I searched the website of "Our Ancestors The Stantons" but could not find Samuel Stanton. Also, the mentioned Benjamin Stanton had no son named Samuel, and Benjamin's son David died in infancy. Thanks sincerely, Richard On Thu, 1 Mar 2001 00:59:05 EST BOOKERHP@aol.com writes: > Hi, > > I saw with interest your trying to trace your Stantons back to > Nantucket as I > come from two lines of the Stantons...Thomas of Stonington, CT and > Robert of > RI whose descendants went to NC and they married into the Macy > family of > Nantucket, etc. The Stantons in NC were Quakers.
