My ggrandmother was Jane Gates. Her father died Civil War. Her mother Abigial (Margarie) Stanton. After both parents died, Jane and her siblings lived for a time with Hollister Stanton in Van Buren County, MI. Jane did not raise her child but returned sometime after 1880 from Iowa to MI. I have nothing on her except for one letter where she refers to son Alex as baby and he was born 1878. Do you have anything on MI Stantons.
