My g-g-grandmother was Bridget (Rose) Mary STANTON and was born ca 1830 in Limerick, Ireland. Her father was John STANTON (mothers name unknown) and she had three brothers (names unknown, also emigrated to the US). Bridget emigrated to Lowell, MA where she met and married Charles ONEIL. Their children were born in Cleveland, OH (James, Edward, Charles) and E. St. Louis, IL (John, Kate, Michael, Mary, Alice, Dennis, Briggie). A partial transcript of a letter written by Kate to my grandmother is below: "Following is ONeil and Stanton ancestry records. (destroyed by fire in 1898. I am giving you from memory of contends of letters written to me. Rev. Father P.P. Lee the Rector of Cathedral Parish schools and Colleges summer of 1896 from Limerick, Ireland. Mr. @ Mrs. John Stanton parents of my mother and three sons were born and died and buried in Limerick, Ireland. Our mother came to Lowell, Mass with dear friends, a sea captain and his wife in their boat. Grandmother Stanton was th only one left in Limerick. Rev. Father P.P. Lee wrote he administed to grandmothers Stanton in his parish for over 45 years. She had been dead three years , what a pity my letters had not reached her of 1896. She often told him she Prayed daily she would someday hear from Mothers children. Our mothers name was Bridget Rose Stanton, he always called her Rose. She was rosy cheeked, blue black curly hair in ringlets. Irish blue eyes, 4 1/2 feet height, handsome and devout." Would love to hear from anyone who sees any connection. John
