I couldn't find any information on her nor her husband. The only Cooper reference I had was a Stanton family in Long Island in the early 1800's. Has anyone else on the list heard of Stantons in Missouri and Oklahoma?

The Stanton book is "A Record, Genealogical, Biographical, Statistical, or Thomas Stanton, of Connecticut, and His Descendants. 1635-1891." by William A. Stanton, Ph.D., D.D. published in Albany NY 1891 by Joel Munsell's Sons. You didn't give a time period for your Thomas Slaughter. I checked anddidn;t see him in the index but if it was before 1891 let me know and I will check again.

    3. Clare I am a new subscriber, and saw this message. I assume you are talking about the book, "Thomas Stanton of CT and his Descendants". He married Anna Lord. The book is a treasure of genealogy info. Written in 1891 by William A. Stanton, it has most descendants of Thomas up through that time. For example my own grandfather is listed in the book. If you know the birth date of an ancestor prior to 1890 the person may well be listed in the book. There is also a website for the Thomas Stanton Society. You may find that of interest. Oh, the book reprint can be purchased today from the Higginson Book Company in Salem Mass. I think the price is about $100. Dave Stanton Charleston WV leston WV

    3. Rusty Taylor writes.. Are you sure that Robert Geer (b. 20 Nov 1796) is the sone of David Geer (b. 20 Jan 1784)? That would make David only 12 yrs. old when Robert was born. My recordsshow that Robert and David were brothers, whose father was David, whose father was Ebenezer. What do you think? Rusty Taylor (whose grandfather's mother was a Gere/Geer) --------------- The Geer connection is through David Geer who married Mary (Joseph, Joseph, John, Thomas) Stanton 17 May 1781. You are correct. (daivf 1784) and Robert (1796) were brothers. Thank you for alelrting me about that error on the web page. 3. I was just in Coshocton, OH. yesterday looking for some other surnames and ran across a possible link that I have been looking for. The first stone I saw when entering Oakridge Cemetery was that of Dr. William P. Stanton b. 1/28/1812 d. 11/7/1888. Also on the stone was probably his grandchildren written as: Mary A. Dau of J.W. & A. Stanton b. 3/29/1886 d. 8/24/1887 and Parry G. son of J.W. & A. Stanton b. 4/14/1872 d. 6/30/1874. Anyone knowing of this family please contact me. I am trying to find the parents of Thomas N. Stanton of Newark, OH and this is the first Stanton I have found in the area that is old enough to be Thomas' father. 1. Enos C. Stanton, Massachusetts
    2. Tamara Bowden
    3. Hello! I am seeking a connection for my gg-grandfather Enos C. Stanton. He was a farmer, born abt. 1841 in Leyden, Massachusetts, married Emily Sophia Coates and had only one child that I know of, Frank Adelbert Stanton. I know from his death certificate that his parents were George Stanton (of Massachusetts, I think) and Clair Bigels from Whittington, VT. Frank Stanton was born in 1884, and died in 1968 in Melrose, MA. Enos C. Stanton died in February 1897 at only 55 years of age. Emily "Emma" Coates remarried a "Mr. Dickinson" (as she called him) and had no more children. The thing that I have noticed from this information is that Enos would have been abt. 43 at the birth of his son Frank. If his wife Emma was the same age, I find it possible but unlikely for her to have only had one child and in her 40s. She may have been much younger, perhaps a second wife. We always thought that Frank was an only child, but maybe not. Does anyone have any ties to this family? Thanks! -Tamara _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. Visit http://www.msn.com
