    1. Harmon P. STANTON
    2. john L. cunningham
    3. Hello, My name is Virginia STANTON CUNNINGHAM. I am new to this list. I am researching my Great Grandfather Harmon P. STANTON. I have no information about his nativity or parents or whether he had siblings. He is definatly my brick wall. Harmon was on the 1850 census for Perry Co., IL. living with the CAMPBELLS. He married my Great Grandmother, Emaline WATKINS not long after the census. They lived the rest oftheir life in Pinckneyville, IL, Perry Co. The family story says that he came from either Whales or England. On the census he states he was born in New York. I know that he was born in 1833 and for a time he was Justice of the Peace in Pinckneyville, IL. I would be eternally gratefuyl for any info anyone could give me about Harmon. It is possible his middle name is Putman. He named his son General Putman. I found this unusual as General PUTMAN defeated the English in NY. Why would anyone name his son after someone who won the war against fellow countrymen? Just a thought! Thank you so much for your time. Virginia
