    3. Hi Gwyneth, oh sorry forgot to add the date of the Marriage, the 24th Nov 1823 St Etheldreda Tamworth, same Church as Elizabeth's burial. Yes there is some information on line for St Etheldreda, just use Google, but there doesn't seem to be any on line Parish Records that I can see. I also think that Elizabeth died in childbirth, how sad only 31 years old. Would also think that Joseph's father was a William, being as he was the oldest son. Hopwas had it's own Church, St Chads built in 1836, don't know if any of your family are recorded there or not? Here are some pictures of the Church and the Village:- http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=st+chads+church+hopwas+tamworth&hl=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=_Gd2UNXCAqil0QXah4DgCg&ved=0CAcQ_AUoAQ&biw=1014&bih=631 HTH Linda.

    1. [STAFFORDSHIRE] Stone/Slater's Directories, Tamworth

    3. Hello, I have a few pages copied from some sort of Directory. (can't remember where it came from now). On the front page is says Directory....Stone....Staffordshire. About half way down the page it is headed Tamworth. However the next page is headed Staffordshire....Tamworth....Slater's. It then lists people under professions, addresses etc, some of which is Joseph Hastilow, Hopwas under the heading Gardeners & Seedsmen. Alice Hastilow, Church St, teacher, Grammar School, John Hastilow, Church St, Shopkeeper and James Hastilow Bolebridge St, Taverner of the Jolly Button? I am wondering if anyone can date this please. There are 3 pages of people in Tamworth, so if anyone would like me to check for their ancestors please let me know. Cheers Gwyneth Sydney
