Again I am entering my plea for help to find the birth place of Samuel THOMPSON born c1777 somewhere married Deborah OUTRAM born 1781 Eyam Derbyshire at St. Georges Church Hanover Square London on17th March 1804 . Before and after the marriage he was the carpenter to the Earl of Bradford Weston under lizard Staffordshire . Children born there : George bp1807 m. Maria WHEELER and lived in London as a carpenter . Son George marries Helen ( SMITH ) and came to Australia 1854 . Samuel bp. 1810 m. Hannah NEWBERRY of Barston Warwichshire lived and worked as a carpenter in Staffordshire James bp 1813 m.Mary TOMKINSON and lived and died at Blymhill Staffordshire as a carpenter Thomas bp. 1821 m. Mary Ann BULLOCK in Derby and lived London as a carpenter . Came to Australia 1854 Lucy .bp. 1824 and became the Housekeeper to several well to do families in Staffordshire . Thankyou for reading this plea for I have been chasing Samuel`s birth place and parents since 1958 .Logical places could be Lazonby Cumbria--Barton on Humber Lincolnshire--Barston Warwickshire-Derby Derbyshire --London because there are Thompson Carpenters there or could have been born anywhere .     3. Laurie, If you've been looking since 1958 and asked the same question last year, I'm not sure if we can help. Have you looked at London Parish Records on Ancestry? They may have more details on the marriage record. I'd like to see the birthplaces of the children. I'm confused on the timeline. What was he doing in London?. When was he working for the Earl of Bradford? I see his son Samuel married at Weston Under Lizard in 1835, suggesting the family moved back there. Have you found him in 1841 or 1851 census? If he hadn't died, 1851 should give birthplace. By 1861 he'd be over 80, so most likely deceased. Not sure if a death certificate would give parents or birthplace. Another possibility would be to look at submitted trees an Ancestry and Rootsweb. New trees may have been added since your last visit. I'd also recommend going back over sources of all your data. It's amazing what you find on review and why you missed it. Peter
